Our
wines
We make fresh and elegant wines that aim to be references of their origins.
Wines that are deep, precise and capable of long ageing. Wines that reflect the parcels, villages and vineyards of Rioja Alavesa in the glass.
At Bideona we classify our wines by the quality and specific origin of the grapes, and not by their ageing times. We make parcel, village and regional wines.
Our selection
Available from 2024
All the major wine-growing areas have articulated the diversity of their territory through their villages. The diversity and complexity of the soil and geology of Rioja Alavesa means that the villages in the area have very different personalities.
We make our “regional wines” by combining plots of vineyards from different villages, achieving wines with a clear Rioja Alavesa personality. The altitude of our vineyards translates into the freshness and elegance of the wines. The high average age and genetic diversity of our vineyards produce a remarkable aromatic depth in the glass. And the limestone soils are manifested through an unmistakable texture, firm but refined, as well as a tense and mineral finish.

Mayela
This is our “Cosechero 2.0” project, a young, juicy, versatile, unoaked red wine that is a contemporary reinterpretation of the grower/cosechero tradition of Rioja Alavesa. We produce this wine from beautiful vineyards on the slopes of the Sierra Cantabria, without using carbonic maceration or any other method that could mask its personality.
The wine is fresh and approachable, but also shows the depth and purity typical for Rioja Alavesa. It is a single wine but carries a series of six sequential labels featuring illustrations of our real growers, as a tribute to their daily work. Mayela aims to contribute to the preservation of traditional viticulture and to the sustainability of the historic vineyards
